department of plant molecular physiology
Today, with climate change and global warming, the damage caused by environmental stress has spread and causes a lot of damage to farmers and the country's economy every year. Coping with these stresses requires various solutions, including infrastructure improvement, optimal use of water and soil resources, and plant breeding. The molecular physiology research department investigates the physiological mechanisms of tolerance to environmental stresses in important agricultural and horticultural plants, and the recognition of the molecular mechanisms of cellular signaling in environmental stresses, with an emphasis on drought, salinity, and heat stresses. The fields of research activities include investigating the absorption and transfer of ions under salinity stress in genotypes with borderline response to stress, investigating the structure and function of ion channels, and investigating the activity of genes and proteins that respond to stress and are involved in increasing tolerance to stress. Environmental studies, the preparation of ion profiles and metabolites in plants in unfavorable environmental conditions with the approach of systems biology.
