Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII) was established in 1999 to utilize and develop novel agricultural technologies to solve agricultural problems, thereby contributing to the country’s food security, enhancing food safety, protecting its natural resources and ecosystems, producing knowledge and wealth, and promoting national self-sufficiency in agricultural products. With its expert and committed human resources and its advanced infrastructural technologies, its research has had a measurable impact on various sections of agricultural biotechnology, to the extent that it has gained a reputation as one of the most prominent and effective research institutes both within the country and more widely in the region.
