Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran

At the request of the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), a virtual joint meeting was held on April 3, 2023, between ABRII and MARDI to discuss Arian Breed Chicken. Meeting Participants were Dr Noraini binti Samat, Director of Livestock Research Centre; Mr Muhammad bin Moh Sabri, Deputy Director of Livestock Research Centre; Ms Aniadila Kamaruddin, Deputy Director of International Networking Programme; Ms Norliyana Yusup, Senior Research Officer, International Networking Programme; Prof. Mohsen Mardi, Director General of ABRII and Senior Advisor to Vice Minister of Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO); Dr. Mehrshad Zeinalabedini, Director of Systems Biology Department at ABRII; Prof. Sayed Abdoullah Hosseini, Faculty member of Animal Sciences Research Institute of Iran (ASRI); Dr. Hossein Mehraban, Faculty member of Animal Sciences Research Institute of Iran (ASRI); Dr. Mehrbano Kazemi, Research Associate of ABRII; Dr. Forough Ghasemi, Head of International Scientific Cooperation Office at ABRII. After introducing both sides' attendees, Dr. Samat expressed interest in pursuing joint research initiatives to enhance the Aryan Chicken breed. Collaboration on workshops or training courses in the field of Genome Editing was also identified as an area of mutual interest. Prof. Dr. Mardi responded positively to all the Malaysian proposals, indicating that AREEO is eager to collaborate with MARDI.
