ABRII’s Faculty Member Participated in the International Meeting on Microorganism and Invertebrate Genetic Resources

Dr. Maryam Mousivand, Head of the Microbial Biotechnology Department at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute (ABRII) and National Focal Point for the Genetic Resources of Microorganisms and Invertebrates, represented Iran at the first meeting of the Technical Working Group on Microorganism and Invertebrate Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.

The meeting, held in Rome from September 23-27, 2024, brought together representatives from various member countries of the FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.

The primary objective of the meeting was to establish a framework for collaboration and exchange of information on the conservation, management, and sustainable use of microorganism and invertebrate genetic resources for food and agriculture.
