Agriculture Meets AI: A Successful Event in ABRII
A significant event focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture took place on Wednesday, October 2nd, at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII). The event, attended by over 600 experts, researchers, and representatives from AI-focused startups, was graced by the presence of Dr. Mojtaba Khayam Nekouei, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad and head of the Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization (AREEO).
Khayam Nekouei emphasized the growing challenges faced by the agricultural sector due to climate change and increasing population. He stressed the need for increased productivity through the adoption of innovative technologies, particularly AI.
Dr. Mohsen Mardi, director general of ABRII, emphasized the need for data-driven decision-making and the application of AI to address the challenges posed by climate change. "We need to analyze and theorize about the phenomena that will occur in the future," Mardi said. "To do this, we need accurate data and precise data analysis. By analyzing the past, we can create the future."
The event featured presentations by 18 leading companies showcasing their AI solutions for agriculture, including applications in crop monitoring, yield prediction, and precision farming.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Mohsen Mardi and Dr. Pejman Azadi, Deputy of Technology and Innovation at ABRII and Executive Secretary of the event, followed by a ceremony to honor the companies present at the exhibition.
