Lab experts of the Genetic Engineering and Biosafety Research Department at the University of Agriculture, Pakistan

Lab experts of ABRII, Dr. Rasoul Amirian and Eng. M. Reza Shams participated in the “International Hands-on Training on Genome Editing" held on May 6-10, 2024, in Faisalabad, Pakistan. This Training program was organized by the National Center for Genome Editing (NCGE), Center for Advance Studies in Agriculture and Food Security (CAS-AFS), D-8 Research Center for Agriculture and Food Security (D-8 RCAFS), University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. The workshop’s objectives were to provide an essential understanding of both theoretical and practical knowledge of genome editing technology and to enable participants to design genome-editing experiments in their research. Dr. Rasoul Amirian and Eng. M. Reza Shams attended the theoretical and practical classes of genetic engineering, especially CRISPR and gene transfer, and lectures on biosafety and genetic editing. Moreover, they visited soybean and wheat research farms in Faisalabad and advanced genetic engineering research centers in Pakistan.
