NAT3: A Successful Event Hosted by ABRII
The Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII) successfully hosted the third New Agricultural Technologies (NAT3) event on January 18th, 2024, at the Iran House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT). The event, which focused on networking and collaboration within the agricultural technology ecosystem, was attended by a diverse group of stakeholders including farmers, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mohsen Mardi, Director General of ABRII, highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration in addressing the challenges facing the agricultural sector, particularly in the face of climate change. He emphasized the need for a systematic approach to identify and address these challenges, and the NAT3 event was designed to facilitate this process. Dr. Mardi also emphasized that ABRII’s core strategy lies in the integration of science, innovation, and commerce, believing that addressing agricultural challenges requires more than just knowledge transfer; it necessitates simultaneous reforms in policy, regulations, and existing processes.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of 16 agreements and memoranda of understanding, covering a wide range of areas such as biofertilizers, nanofertilizers, and bio-control agents. These partnerships will drive innovation and accelerate the development of sustainable agricultural practices. Moreover, the event showcased the latest advancements in agricultural technology, fostering connections between researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers.
